General goal for the Program:To provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children while responding to the needs of families.

Social and emotional goals for each child:

  1. To have a positive self-image and to acknowledge, express and accept a range of feelings.
  2. To become increasingly more independent within the context of warm, nurturing, and accepting relationships with adults.
  3. To be alert and curious, to use initiative, to have confidence in his/her abilities, and to speak his/her mind with conviction.
  4. To respect the feelings and rights of others and begin to cooperate with peers.

Cognitive goals for each child:
  1. To put objects and events into relationships and notice similarities and differences.
  2. To come up with a variety of ideas, problems, and questions.
  3. To become increasingly more able to represent ideas both symbolically and linguistically.

  Physical goals for each child:  
  • To become increasingly more competent with gross, fine, and perceptual motor skills
